These sorts of natural disasters have a distribution of needs which look something like this graph, where the immediate need is usually all we are aware of, the photos in our blog posts and on the news. But there is a long "tail" to the graph; people will be saving money and looking for help repairing homes or relocating for years to come.

As you can gather by reading the updates above, there is also much to disasters which is not natural. There is man-made climate change, of course. And also racism and the injustice of extreme wealth inequality and the political power that goes along with it. Bennettsville, SC deserves the best of our solidarity.
